I bought this product a year and a half ago and was initially somewhat satisfied with the product. However at about the one year mark, just as the one year warrantee was expiring, I stepped on the foot petal and there was a pop sound. Upon closer examination, the foot petal was now leaning to one side and I had to step on the opposite side to get it to operate. We continued to use the can like this for the next several months until one day the other side also snapped and then it no longer worked. I reached out to customer support and they informed me that I was out of warrantee and that it was not repairable. Since I spent over $250 on this product, I was hopeful that I would get more than a year of use from it but no such luck. I now have to manually lift the lid to put my trash and recycling in the garbage. I looked under the can and found that the foot petal lever was made out of plastic and the pop sounds that I had heard were the pivot points snapping off. I cannot believe that a company would make a product like this knowing fool well that the cheap plastic parts would break and then not stand behind their product. I would strongly recommend not purchasing this product, because I can guarantee that it will stop working for the same reason that mine did.
